meet the panelists

Daren Metz

A professional percussionist who is currently performing with the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, Luther Vandross Tribute Concert Series, and the Roots to Rhythm Drum Clinic Tour. Other artists that Daren has worked with over the years include Brand New Heavies, Teddy Riley, and Colt Younger. In addition to performing and recording his Solo CD, "Return of the Funky Drums", Daren also enjoys teaching percussion at the Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts based in Philadelphia. As part of the team of advisers for Noble & Cooley, over the years, Daren has contributed to the production of the Cherry, Walnut, and Oak Solid Shell Snare Drums. He is also working as the Head Percussion Instructor at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts. Teaching the tradition of drums and percussion to a new breed of musicians including Justin Faulkner, who is now touring with Orrin Evans and Branford Marsalis. He started Luka Digital Systems, which is a mobile Pro-Tools system for providing artists with Live Pro-tools sessions of their events as well as home recording session (wave of the future!).
